The Great Walk

Sailfish on Fraser is an eco-friendly ten unit resort suited to the self-catering holiday maker. So pack those food and play items to make your stay and day trips enjoyable.
When travelling on K’gari it is always good to be prepared. Remember to take sun safe precautions; slip, slop, slap, slide and seek. Take with you a supply of water, food and dry clothing. Make sure you pack to allow your day trips to be comfortable.
Sailfish runs its own effluent system which is maintained and tested under strict environmental guidelines. Some chemicals, particularly bleaching and phosphate agents destroy the balance in this system. Sailfish provides all necessary detergents for your stay to ensure we meet the Department standard. Personal products selected for use on your holiday should also take this into consideration. We greatly appreciate your compliance to this.
Sailfish provides 24 hour power through solar system with back up gas generator. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate additional appliances such as: plug in esky, hair dryers, portable air conditioners, heaters and the like. Our kitchens are fully equipped and all apartments have ceiling fans throughout with full screens on all doors and windows. Adequate blankets are supplied.
Telstra receives the best coverage. If it is important for your to stay online, please consider obtaining a Telstra connectivity stick. For urgent communication the office has full connectivity. The local bar/bistro has a user pay wifi lounge and phone access.
Happy Valley has a general store and fuel but we recommend you fuel up before leaving the mainland.
Visitors also often enjoy a meal at Happy Valley’s Bar and Bistro. Our on site managers are happy to organise a reservation for you.
Being a semi-remote community we highly recommend bringing all medications.
Our cancellation policy allows change of date 30 days prior to original dates with $20 administration fee in low season, and 60 days prior to original dates with $20 administration fee in high season. Of course, any date change is subject to availability of alternative dates. Change of date in high season less than 60 days prior to arrival date will be subject to cancellation policy for high season.
Our cancellation policy in low season is refund on deposit less $100 administration fee for 31 days notice prior to arrival dates. Cancellation less than 30 days notice prior to arrival date during low season is non-refundable full deposit. Change of date is available 30 days prior to arrival in low season.
Our cancellation policy in high season is refund on deposit less $100 administration for 60 days notice prior to arrival dates. Less than 60 days notice but more than 30 days notice of cancellation in high season is non-refundable full deposit. Less than 30 days notice of cancellation in high season is loss of full tariff unless apartment is re-let.
Although we always aim to please our guests, specific units cannot be guaranteed. Each apartment has the same amenities. Please be assured consideration is given to requests and accommodated as such when possible. Group bookings will, when possible, be accommodated for ease of social activities.
